Description
We are one of the few remaining family owned and operated mortuaries serving the community (my great-great grandfather began providing funeral service to the community in 1890). Unlike out-of-state chains that exist in the area (some using "family" in their name) we put your needs first. No one has ever been turned away for a lack of money - rarely does a week go by that we don't care for the poor. We care about the people we serve. We offer a complete pre-planning service which provides the peace of mind that the plans you make today will make things easier for your survivors (some may choose to pre-fund and lock in today's costs). There are no charges for these services. My co-workers and the families we serve continue to teach me this is a sacred trust, an opportunity to help people at the most painful and difficult of times. We are the only firm in the area to make the following guarantee: Horan & McConaty has the fairest prices and the widest range of choices in the area. Our staff is caring, considerate, and knowledgeable. Our facilities are modern and immaculate. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, we will reduce or eliminate the charge.

I lost both of my parents within 2 months and they both were buried in Arlington National Cemetery. Horan was outstanding and received compliments from the funeral home in Virginia with whom we coordinated the transportation. I cannot speak highly enough about Horan & McConaty!

Death is difficult for anyone. We lost my mother and father within a five month span which was very tough for our family. Horan & McConaty did everything that they could to make the planning process for the funerals go as smoothly as possible. Their professionalism was exquisite as they never lost sight of the fact that we had just lost our loved ones but they efficiently moved us through the process of making many decisions. All of the pricing was fully disclosed ahead of time, all of the options were explained to us and we never felt pressure to overspend in order to fully honor our loved ones. They helped us create our final "goodbye" the way we wanted it to be while handling all of the details of a complete event. We couldn't be happier with the experience we had at Horan & McConaty and would totally recommend them to anyone in the unfortunate position of having to make funeral plans. You couldn't be in safer hands.
Pros:Great deal of professionalism, kind and caring, costs are reasonable and fully disclosed on their website so you know that you're not getting "soaked". Meticulous in detail of how to honor our loved ones. Very compassionate.
