After going down the "referral" list calling plumbers trying to get a quote over the phone I found most of the plumbers want to charge a service call fee and get into your front door to give you a written quote. The plumbers assume once you have committed to a fee and they are at your home a consumer will probably hire them, who seriously wants to spend days and hours getting quotes and paying numerous service call fees? I can understand a plumber not wanting to give a phone quote on a large complicated job however I just wanted my old kitchen faucet removed and replaced with a new one. Against my better judgment I had Applewood plumbing come to my house because they wave the service call fee. The technician came into my home, the first thing he tried to do was to up sale me on a 1 year service / maintenance contract which presumably gives you discounts, this was a $198.00 cost he was throwing at me before I got the kitchen faucet quote. Without looking under my sink, he briefly looked at my new faucet wrapped in the box and told me it would cost $435.00 to replace the faucet, then he said it would only cost $398.00 if I signed up for the "service contract"...really!? The last time I had a kitchen faucet replaced I paid $155.00...the technician should have put a gun in my face because I felt I was being robbed and taken advantage of! I asked him to leave my home, I was in total shock and disbelieve at the unscrupulous audacity of this company. I had wasted a day changing schedules to meet this plumber, I was not very happy, I went back on Martino's list (reluctantly) and called a few more plumber who actually gave me a quote over the phone! I contacted Umbrella Plumbing and to my amazement the owner called me back within 10 minutes, he gave me a quote of $150.00 over the phone, the owner Marcus showed up at my house after a few hours and kindly replaced my faucet. Marcus was professional, very kind, VERY honest...I can easily say this was the best experience I have had with a plumber or any service person ever! I highly recommend Umbrella Plumbing, I personally will never use any other plumbing service...and I would recommend staying far away from Applewood Plumbing, they are rip-off artists and the most expensive plumbers I have ever dealt with! Conversely Umbrella Plumbing was the most reasonably and competitively price plumbing company I have ever dealt with, thank you Marcus!

Marcus was on-time and professional. He identified the problem quickly and educated me on my options to fix the problem. He also searched for days for a cover for my french drain and kept me informed on his progress. Because he had to reschedule our first appointment, he waived his diagnosis fee and also didn't charge me for the french drain cover because it took him a few days to locate one. I am new to the area and appreciate Marcus and his professionalism. I will never use another plumbing company in Denver. Thanks again, Marcus!!!!
